ABOUT TUCSON DULCIMER ENSEMBLE
The Tucson Dulcimer Ensemble (TDE) was started by Mary Walker along with some of her students as a way to play and practice together. As this small group expanded we became the Tucson Dulcimer Ensemble. Mary, wishing to return to her teaching and performing trio, decided in 2016 to take a "back seat" from being the director with TDE. Bob maintains this web page, our E-mail account, and our Face Book page. This keeps him busy and out of trouble while being an asset to TDE. The members only area feature has educational material and videos. Some of our music TAB is under special permission use by the arranger, so we have this in the members only secured area.. This is why we do not have our TABS on our Web Page's public area as some other web pages do. We respect our Artist friends that give us permission to use their TAB and we announce the "Artist Arrangement" when we perform their work. We enjoy having a variety of instruments in TDE to enhance our music. These include Mountain and Hammered Dulcimers, Ukulele, Guitars, both bass and acoustic, Mandolins, flutes and penny whistles, and other instruments on occasion. We try to stay with Acoustic instruments and most types are welcome We have a few members that do special types or styles of playing and enjoy finding venues to play at and show off our instruments. We have played for Schools, parties, funerals, museums and county fairs. TDE continues to expand our repertoire. We are always looking for experienced players/ Instructors that come through to present workshops for us. Among the guest artists who have conducted workshops for TDE in Tucson are Bing Futch, Lois Hornbostel, Ehukei Teves, Steven Seifert and others. Check out the Events, Practices & Small Groups Tab to see when we meet and the current events that are happening with TDE. If you wish to attend a practice to check us out or possibly join our group please send us an email at TucsonDulcimerEnsemble@gmail.com or use the "Contact US" form on this page. |
